Angie Everett- Cincinnati, OH
I was born in Southeastern Kentucky, and spent my childhood crisscrossing the Ohio River between my birthplace and my current hometown of Cincinnati. My love for art lead me to train at the Columbus College of Art and Design.
I am the oldest of three children and quite protective of my youngest brother who was diagnosed with just about everything, including PDD and mild autism.
My husband and I have 4 beautiful children. The challenges of motherhood have taken me on the most amazing, humbling, joyful adventure. My kids motivate me to love greater and give more than I could have ever done on my own. Another motivation is watching both my autistic niece work so hard to communicate a few words, and my grandmother lose her memory, her awareness, and her ability to function due to dementia. Those experiences have changed me profoundly, deepening my passion to appreciate and celebrate every person as precious and uniquely created and gifted by God.
Focusing on the needs of my children has put my artistic aspirations on hold for many years, but my dream to be an artist helping others through my craft was never extinguished. I’m ready to ignite the spark of creativity again and return to my passion for art. I believe discovering Art Without Boundaries has given me the opportunity to fulfill a purpose God designed me for. Never could I have imagined how my art and life experiences would culminate to prepare me so suitably for the mission of AWBF and MnemeTherapy, but now those pieces are fitted together and it is with great anticipation I begin the journey of becoming a Certified MnemeTherapist.

TAMMY WOOD- Barre, VT
Tammy was raised in the rural town of Barre, Vermont. as a small town girl she had ample time to enjoy nature's beauty that surrounded her. Some of her most cherished memories are of family gatherings at her grandparent's mountain camp. The views took her breath away and instilled in her a deep love for God's creation as far as she could see. She has an inner artistic spirit that has grown and developed over the years. " Art is a huge part of who I am, my inner voice, my way of sharing a piece of my soul with the world."
She has been blessed with a loving husband and six wonderful children. "Raising our kid's has been the highlight of my life, each one unique and special in their own way. They bring me more happiness than I could ever express through words." her thirteen-year old son has Autism/Cerebral palsy; she knows first hand what Autism is about and how difficult it can be for the individuals and their families. "Although helping my son deal with Autism is an extreme challenge at times, he is my greatest gift from God, my strongest inspiration. He has taught me what this life is truly about...un-conditional love."
She has been working towards an Associate Degree in Fine Arts from CCV in Montpelier Vermont. Focusing on children and their development through art. " My college experience has enriched me and given me the tools I need to do what I've always dreamed of."
Art Without Boundaries is an exceptional Program. "When I realized the opportunity that this program was able to offer me, I was overwhelmed with pure joy! I had been praying for a way to use my artistic talent to help children like my son, children with Autism. Thank-you Noell... for my chance to become a Mneme therapist and make a difference in so many lives. The Art Without Boundaries Program is a Gift!"
KELLY WOODALL-Upstate South Carolina

Kelly was born in Houston, Texas. She received a BA in Art, from Anderson College in Anderson, South Carolina.
Her family and friends are a very important part of her life. She thanks them for all of their love and support. She is caregiver by nature and has always had a love for children. This passion has led her down the path of fostering children and advocating for their safety. “It is important to give children a voice by speaking for them.” She has also worked in the public school system with special needs children and trained intensively with the autism program. She has always been an artist and always had the support of family…even at a very young age. “I do not remember a time in my life that I was not completely immersed in creating something. My mind and soul find ample nourishment in the creative process.” Art Without Boundaries is such an incredible program. MnemeTherapy is just what Kelly has been searching for…it has combined both of her passions….art and helping people. She is so ecstatic at the opportunity of being a MnemeTherapist! Thank you Noell!

A consortium of dedicated artists creating a circle of compassion around the world
Tania Henderson grew up an artist and a soccer player in the Boston area. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration from The Rhode Island School of Design and headed west. Boulder, Colorado was the place she was drawn to begin her career as a fine artist. During those first 5 years her work focused primarily on highly realistic portraiture. By the mid nineties realism was no longer feeding her growth and she stopped painting for a year. Upon her return to the canvass she found herself ignited by abstract expressionism relying on color and design to describe the senses. Now, the mother of two amazing children, she finds her work gravitating back to her representational roots, focusing on the up close study of natural objects merging her styles of painting into contemporary realism.
She enjoys hiking,biking,music,snowshoeing,trail-running,meditation and yoga in and around Colorado's beautiful wide open spaces. Art instruction and coaching soccer have been fulfilling activities as well, combining a love of children with her gifts. Not known to all, she has a passion for understanding life that motivates continued study and practice in spiritual contemplation with a special focus on the ecstatic poets. Her family is passionately playful with each other and are very good tree climbing wrestlers. They appreciate their environment and love the time they are afforded to be out in nature together.
As a child creating art provided her a world she could express herself unabashedly, keeping her sane in an, all too often, insane childhood. While in college, she studied psychology as well as art to further understand her beginnings. So, naturally art therapy has been hovering as a possibility for some time. Now, embarking on Mneme Therapy she feels her worlds merging yet again. And is excited to have her work give back in a whole new way.

Kate Toohey-Philadelphia, PA

Sherry Deadman- Denver, CO
Sherry grew up on the East coast, and began moving west in her twenties. In 1980 she moved to Hawaii where she raised her four children. Presently she lives in Colorado, enjoying the sun, the snow and the mountains.
“I am always dabbling in one art form or another. It is through my creative nature that I find balance. “ While living in Hawaii she worked in a therapeutic foster care agency where she worked with at-risk youth. “All of these children had suffered traumas in their young lives. I found each of them had a creative outlet to cope with the disruptions of their youth. I believe that when we touch the creative gift inside each of us we experience a greater part of ourselves. We have at that point in time an opportunity to become present in the moment. This is where the healing begins.”
“I am excited to become part of the Art Without Boundaries organization. I have found that combining service with art has no greater reward. To be able to share what I love best with another becomes my gift as well as theirs. I thank Noell Hammer and the AWBF for their inspiration, and the momentum they have maintained to provide this opportunity for others.”

I am an artist who enjoys creating dreamscape
paintings. I lived in Cortona, Italy in 2005
teaching and studying art and feel this experience has greatly inspired my current work.
I received a BFA in Art education from the University of Georgia in 2006 and am currently teaching Preschool with the pre-k counts program through Bristol Township, Pa. I was born and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania as the second oldest of four children. My older brother has cerebral palsy, severe mental retardation and is deaf.
Growing up with a compassion for people with special needs and believing in healing through expression, I am very pleased to say that I am an apprentice in MnemeTherapy.
My passion for art began when I was a young child. I have always been very attracted to many forms of art, creating in such mediums as large paintings in oils and acrylics, small altered books, encaustic, color studies, figure drawings, assemblage and collage.
Graduating from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco was just the beginning of my art adventures. I strive to continue to change and grow as my creative spirit leads me. Some of my best work has occurred when I work within a series.
My greatest satisfaction is found when I channel my vision and interpretation to the viewer and the viewer can truly feel as if they were there with me at the time the work was created. I enjoy sharing my vision and knowing that others enjoy it as well.
I am happy to become an apprentice for AWB. I love people and look forward to working with those who live with Alzheimers, autism and other disabilites to inspire their memory through art.
Lisette Lugo- San Carlos, CA
Noell Hammer- SE Florida Pilot Chapter
My mother was a self-taught artist who allowed me to mess around with her paints as early as I can remember. I had an insatiable desire to paint and would paint on anything I could find: rocks, slate, barnsiding, driftwood, and plasterboard.
I painted my Dad's hunting dog (below) when I was 10 or 11 on an old piece of barnsiding.
So you can image my dismay when my mother told me that I couldn't make a living as a painter and I had to train to get a "Real Job." Dutifully I went to college and trained to for a "real" teaching job, which I did for 15 years.
Forty years later, that experience fueled my passion to design a dream job for artists and to make sure that no budding artist will be told by her mother she can't make a living as a painter.
Thanks to these dedicated artists, my dream is coming true.

You can open a chapter anywhere there's not an operating chapter or apprentice in training.

Lisa Blaskay- Allen Park, MI
I'm from Allen Park, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit.
After the death of my father in July of 1999, my life took a dramatic change. This loss was almost too much to bear and I found myself sinking into a deep depression. At that time, I had been in business for 7 years, and in an instant, in late Oct. of 1999, my life was changed forever! The Lord had other plans for me.
My life, as I had known it, would be no longer. I was to be an Artist. I had never painted before, I didn’t know how to mix paints, yet I knew without a doubt, that God had a plan and this was to be my new profession.
It has been almost 9 years since that day, and it has truly been a blessing to see where the Lord has taken me and what He’s taught me. I cannot claim to have any special talents, because they all have come from Him. My life is like a canvas and He is the Painter!
Once again, the Lord has taken what He has given me and is writing a new chapter in my life with the Art Without Boundaries Foundation. To work and help others, to bring joy and validation to one’s life who has been robbed of it through a horrible condition...and then to be the one to bring art, storytelling and singing into the mix...this is truly an opportunity that only God could have orchestrated for me. I am honored to be used in this way! I know that all I need to learn and to give, He will give to me abundantly.
And I thank you Noell, for providing the vision and the training, and for the role that you’ll play in my life. This is truly a gift!”

Recognizing a Stroke
A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally . He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medical help within 3 hours.
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Someone may stumble or drop something and are embarrassed and don’t want to draw attention to themselves. Just asking the person, “ Is anything wrong?” “Are you all right?” doesn’t help. They don’t know something major happened. Unfortunately, this lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke .
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking four simple questions. You can remember the questions with S T A T! "Stat" is a term doctors use when they want something done quickly. It is an abbreviation for the Latin word statim, meaning "immediately."
- S Ask the individual to SMILE.
- T Ask the person to TALK and repeat A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. It is sunny out today)
- A Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
- T Ask the person to Stick out their TONGUE. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

Linda Womack- Conway, AR
Growing up shy, I turned to art to escape the world, while created my own fantasy. I often found myself in adversive situations and I praise God for having endured them. Art seemed to help a great deal in those experiences. And through my journey I learned to feel empathy for people who are in similar situations.
In 1977 I graduated from University of Central Arkansas with a BSE degree. Art was my major and my minor was in Special Education. I have won several awards for my art throughout my life and find that art is great therapy for those who participate in such a visual language that speaks to all people.
I have always loved working with physically and mentally challeged people because I felt mutually comfortable with them. I have had much experience working with the mentally retarded, deaf, blind,deaf-blind,physically challenged, cerebral palsy, and emotionally disturbed. Plus, in the last six years I have worked with dementia and Alzhemer's patients. During this time I also worked at a local hospice. I find that working with the challenged is the area that I feel I have the most patience.
I want to give a special thanks to God, Noell and all of the new friends that I'm is making in this program. Blessings to all!
